The MCA Approved Engine Certificate 1 (AEC1) course develops your basic understanding from the RYA Diesel Engine Maintenance course to a more advanced level.
About the course
This newly updated course with increased content featuring increased practical elements as per the recommendations of the MCA, provides the practical basic hands on training and theoretical knowledge of diesel engines to enable you to work on board Small Vessels as engineer/ dual deck engineer within the yacht, workboat, fishing, tugs sectors of the maritime industry.
Who is the AEC1 course for?
the first level qualification for the MCA Small Vessel Engineering Officer training scheme.
The all inclusive price includes all food and accommodation for the duration of your course. Non-residential price is inclusive of lunch only.
Qualify for
Enables you to work as engineer onboard a Small Vessel, including dual role deck / engineer positions.
Qualifications
MCA Approved Engine Certificate 1 (AEC1).
Prerequisites
Minimum age 18 years old.
If you have no previous engineering experience we would advise that you attend an RYA Diesel Engine Maintenance before completing this course.
Looking to work on vessels?
Note: You will be required to hold the STCW Basic Safety Training qualification and an ENG1 Medical Certificate.
